Mizuki Nana’s Trickster hits 2nd position on weekly Oricon charts
Julius_Firefocht | October 8, 2008Feel the Nana love!
Looks like Nana-chan’s massed fans (henceforth known as The Legion) has done their duty well. They will have to, since the Trickster single is REALLY good. Good enough to have me looping Trinity Cross for the whole night at any rate.
Either that or the uber-delicious DISCOTHEQUE PV that featured Nana in several heart-stoppingly cute poses did the trick of recruiting new members for The Legion.
Or maybe its a combination of both.
Regardless of the factors behind Nana-chan’s latest triumph, the fact is that Nana’s Trickster sold a staggering 57201 copies in a week widely expected to be dominated by singers from mainstream J-pop. To make a piece of good news even better, Trickster’s first week sales performance was the best that Nana has ever achieved, even beating her previous records such as Secret Ambition and Massive Wonders.
If Nana had released Trickster in a week with less competition while achieving this kind of sales results, the first position would have been hers for the taking. A wasted chance at the coveted throne perhaps, though we of The Legion should certainly take heart in the fact that Nana held her own against some of the best that the Japanese music industry has to offer, while setting a new record for herself.
So what’s next? White Album in January 2009? Bring it on, we of The Legion will be ready.
This is Julius Firefocht, signing off!
