Just to prove that Nana is not flat, and a bit of updates.Julius_Firefocht | March 8, 2009
I am sure some of you have seen this picture of Nana before, but I felt the need to post it up. See, Nana is not flat! Well, not too flat. Ok, she is kinda flat, but…. not THAT flat… *mumbles*
Nah, we do actually have a couple of Nana-related news for you.
1) Nanoha to get a 4th series called “Mahou Senki Lyrical Nanoha Force”.
Seven Arcs is playing it safe this time. The new series will start out as a manga, and Nanoha is reportedly 25 years old now. They should have called it Mahou Obasan Lyrical Nanoha. It sounds more honest that way.
Starting out as a manga is a good way to gauge the audience reaction. If the new idea proves unpopular, Seven Arcs can dispense with producing the animation altogether, in favour of other projects.
Of course, the new title suggests the presence of quite a bit more military action. Perhaps we will get to see Nanoha and Fate leading entire armies of mages around, wiping out everything in their path. Or maybe all we will see are Teana and Subaru doing the majority of the work while the old birds support them. Whatever it is, I am curious to see how Fate will turn out at age 25, and how much more revealing her Barrier Jacket will become.
For those who prefer loli Nanoha and Fate, there is always the upcoming movie that is a remake of the 1st season of Nanoha. At least Seven Arcs know how to keep everyone happy.
2) White Album to get a 2nd season.
Now, you might have noticed that I have stopped writing episode reviews of White Album. No, I have not dropped the show. It is just that my current work schedule does not allow me to blog regularly. This decision has nothing to do with White Album’s horrible pacing and overall lack of Nana. Nor does Rideback have anything to do with this. I was just busy. Yeah.
With that out of the way, White Album is getting a 2nd season. I have no idea how or why, but the pacing does make some kind of sense now. How much I look forward to season 2 will be directly related to how big a cliffhanger Seven Arcs leave for the audience in episode 13. From what we heard, the female seiyuus were thoroughly disgusted with Touya after the recording of episode 11, so there is something to look forward to after all.
When all else fails, we just need to remember that we will get new Nana songs, which is always something to rejoice about. Unfortunately, even that is a silver lining in an extremely dark cloud.
Now that I am done with the updates, I have a feeling this post was simply an excuse for me to post a nice Nana picture, one that proves she is not totally flat.
