From days of long ago…
dodgethis | April 14, 2009As most of you are aware, some of us are gamers, in the traditional sense, playing Warhamer40k, BattleTech and Magic: The Gathering, more than we dabble in computer games.
About a year or so ago, Privateer Press, creators of the Warmachine franchise, released Monsterpocolypse, a collectible board game, similar to concept from Mage Knight, focused on the epic battles between monsters and heroes. Think Kaijus and Ultraman. PPP chose to use their own characters rather than license franchises from other companies. This was rather a sore point with me because what better way to hook the market than to have monsters and creatures from franchises we love? But worry no anymore!
PPP has just made an announcement of epic proportions. How many remember hat immortal line from Voltron, when it aired here in the late eighties and early nineties? And with Peter Cullen’s glorious voice each week introducing the the show? I certainly do.
YES, PPP HAS LICENSED VOLTRON FOR USE IN MONSTERPOCOLYPSE. I CANNOT DESCRIBE THE FEELINGS I HAVE RIGHT NOW. ZOMGWTFBBQ. I can see it now, players blasting the theme song while playing.
