Shin Mazinger Ep11: Pure ownage Part 1.

So cool…
Ep 10 was just epic old school Super Robot action. The underwater fight was awesome, and manly tears were shed when Kanjite Knight was played while Kouji was laying the smack-down on Vargas. The pure hot-blood I felt from my screen, and Kouji’s impassioned voice… it was too beautiful. I also loved the way Kouji described how the Breast Fire and Koushiryoku Beam won’t be as effective underwater, yet figured out that Rust Hurricane would still be useful. He might as well be describing how Breast Fire’s and Koushiryoku Beam’s underwater stats were C, and how Rust Hurricane’s was B. Super Robot Wars players will know what I am talking about.
Breast Fire sure did not feel weak though, considering it still vaporized Kikaijus like a slab of butter on a burning hot stove even though the fight was underwater. Business as usual, in short. And Mazinger Z’s raw physical strength is simply insane in this incarnation, truly a huge upgrade from the older series. Mazin Power for the win!

I like how the eyes glow so brightly.
This episodes also marks the 1st time Mazinger Z gets damaged in the series, which is usually a signal for an upgrade (Jet Scrander). I was actually surprised that Mazinger Z was still able to fight and function at full capacity even though it had a gaping hole in the middle of its lower torso after being rammed by Toros D7. Such damage would normally have taken any other mecha out of commission. Try asking a Gundam to continue fighting with a hole in its lower torso. Oh wait it can’t, because that is where the cockpit is…
The series is now shifting into high gear after using some of the previous episodes to set the background of the series. Fasten your seatbelts, we are in for a ride!
This is Julius Firefocht, signing off.
