Boss was the one who finally defeated him/her. But yeah, series was awesome, best of 09, yet nobody outside Japan saw it. Inside Japan it was a minor hit in itself though apparently, with toy sales being epic and the last episode gaining the #9 spot of anime at the time. Bring on the sequel! Though it's nigh impossible & improbably plotwise, I kinda wished the manga Shin Mazinger (i.e. 終焉の魔神) would show up atm the Mycenaeans revived.
