A bit of updates, and some excuses for the lack of blog posts.

Julius_Firefocht | December 16, 2010

Yay, Nana-chan loves us too!

It’s been a while since I’ve posted here. I lay the blame on things such as my exams and the existence of Facebook. Microblogging is a lot more convenient when all I have to say is a sentence or two… but hey, I’m back in action, and in one piece (I hope). Of course, my inherent laziness has absolutely nothing to do with the lack of blog posts.

So… I have a few things planned for the rest of this year. I would want to write a post that covers the best of anime in 2010, in my opinion, of course. I am just waiting for the conclusion of shows like Yosuga no Sora and MM! before I start writing. Once that is done, if I had time I would probably outline some of the stuff that I would be watching next season.

The biggest piece of anime related news these days is probably the Tokyo manga ban, as Sankaku Complex optimistically calls it. I trust Sankaku’s reports about as far as I can throw Mazinger Z, but the fact of the matter is that the Japanese anime/manga industry would have to live with this annoyance for as long as this law is in effect. Personally, looking at the big picture, I believe little will change even with this law around. In the worst case scenario, irritated studios and companies will simply pack up and move out to other Japanese cities, while those remaining in Tokyo will move underground to sell their stuff. Comiket might have to be held in a different city, but the strength of the event’s brand will ensure its survival. Otaku tourism in Akihabara, Ikebukuro and Nagano Broadway might also suffer, but I doubt it.

To put things into perspective, pornography is illegal in Japan, under Article 175 of Japan’s Criminal Code. Yet Japan obviously enjoys a thriving porn industry. The anime industry is just going to adapt into such a state and continue business as usual. It’s that simple. And this is even before considering what major companies like Kadokawa and Kodansha will do to screw over the Japanese government and this lamentable law.

But enough of this stupidity. Before I sign off, let me share some nice screen caps from the Nanoha 1st Movie. It’s bluray resolution, it’s wallpaper worthy and it’s all Fate. Enjoy!

That’s about all I have for now. This is Julius Firefocht, signing off.

I'm more interested in how exactly does Spark Smasher differ

Yuu

I’m more interested in how exactly does Spark Smasher differ from Thunder Smasher … similar basics, but used in Grave Mode?
