Japanese artistes and the thing called Portrait Rights.

Julius_Firefocht | March 9, 2010

The Malaysian leg of the May’N  Asia Tour has just ended, and already there’s quite a bit of controversy regarding concert images and photos that were taken and posted on personal blogs, despite the wishes of May’N’s management that such images and photos not be taken. Before we continue, we should establish an understanding. There is no grey area about this issue… this is a matter of black and white, right or wrong. May’N’s management is certainly within their legal rights to demand that such pictures be taken down, and yes, I will come out and say it: the people who have taken the photos are most certainly in the wrong.

Reasons after the jump.

May’n Asia Tour 2010!

dodgethis | January 18, 2010

Yep, May’n will be holding a series of concerts outside of Japan after her Budokan concert! The tour will have three stops, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Taiwan. The cities and dates are as follows

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia: March 7th

Hong Kong: March 19th

Taipei, Taiwan: March 21st

Pity she won’t be stopping by Singapore this time round. But heck, we’ve seen her last year with Yoshiki Fukuyama (Dynamite Explosion’s still very fresh in my mind) so that more than makes up for it.

More details will be released at a later date.

Official site: www.mayn.asia

Wonder if I should make the trip up….

The only reason why I watched the Lucky Star in Budokan performance.

Julius_Firefocht | January 4, 2010

Seki Tomokazu, live as Animate Tenchou Anisawa Meito! The only reason why I even bothered with the show, and really, nothing beats this in the entire performance!

Akira and Shiraishi were wrapping up Lucky Channel when they were shafted by the man who very much defined the term ”hot blood”. Sucks to be them, I guess. XD

“cue screams of fear from Akira”

Obligatory EOY 2009 Loot Post – Makino Yui~

Xak | December 27, 2009

No she’s not loot of course! But she sure is sweet >_<

Now that EOY is over, it is time for the usual run-of-the-mill dime-a-dozen loot post! Except that rather than EOY loot, this year, one of my dreams came true. Makino Yui came down for EOY 2009 and gave a concert! And it was a damn awesome concert; Makino Yui was so lively, fresh and very very cute! Especially when she’s surprised, her “eh?” was just so moe~. Her piano playing was also great, and she performed a piece that she had played for the movie “Love Letter” when she was 8 years old as a present to us fans. And she was interrupted by the EOY staff giving her a surprise early birthday cake (her birthday is actually on January 19), and we sang her a birthday song. As for the song list, she opened the concert with Euphoria, and she sang Amrita, but most of the songs she sang were new songs. And they were really good, especially Fuwa Fuwa ♪, which is to be released next year March 3! I’m going to have to get that, it’s a really totally awesome song.

And there were autograph sessions too! Which allows me to seamlessly transit from my off-topic fanboying of Makino Yui’s concert back to the topic of loot, since for this year, my EOY loot consists of signed goods. And thanks to friends (Akai, Zelfi, Julius Firefocht) helping me to queue, it isn’t just one or two signed CDs either!

Nana Mizuki’s Live Diamond Digest clips

Julius_Firefocht | December 14, 2009

Credits to Danie for bringing this to our attention.

When it rains, it pours… I did not intend to write another post for the next few days, but as a loyal Nana fan, I HAVE to do this.

This clip is a digest of Nana’s Live Diamond concert that was held at the Dome. The digest includes clips from songs such as Eternal Blaze, DISCOTHEQUE, MARIA&JOKER and Gimmick Game.

I just gotta say that I looped the clip from MARIA&JOKER for an indecent number of times. You will know what I mean when you see it for yourself, at around 2:05 to 2:07. And the legs that Nana showed in Gimmick Game… wow. Just wow.

So, go order the Live Diamond x Fever BD or DVD if you are a Nana fan. Seriously, just go and do it. You will not regret it.

Lucky Star in Budokan DVD CM

Julius_Firefocht | December 7, 2009

This CM is new and its 1:21 long, for some reason. It showcases the usual suspects; Deko, Emiri Kato, Kaori Fukuhara and Aya Endo. The selling points are the fact that Minorin performs her songs in it. And the seiyuus all appear wearing their cheerleading uniform while performing Motekke! Sailor Fuku. That alone would be worth the price of admission for many, especially after they show Deko gyrating away on stage in said uniform.

Its worth a look, if only for curiosity’s sake. Tomokazu Sugita, Ono Daisuke and Yuko Goto all make guest appearances in this event, thus effectively assembling the entire Haruhi cast… not that anyone cares anyway. I am personally more interested on the identity of Animate Tenchou, who is currently unlisted in the credits. I will scream like a fanboy if they got Seki Tomokazu into the act.

The DVD will be out this Christmas, so if you liked what you saw, watch out for it then!

Post AFA09 thoughts.

Julius_Firefocht | November 24, 2009

Ouch.

…

AFA Dinner

Pic with May'n and Yoshiki Fukuyama

Last two pictures taken from Danny Choo’s website because his pictures turned out better than mine.

Pic with Shoko-tan

Picture taken from Shoko-tan’s blog, because that’s the only way I can get this pic.

But hey, it feels good.

A proper report will be out when we finally recover.

AFA09: Welcome to the Moe Moe Kyun Maid Cafe!

Julius_Firefocht | November 12, 2009

This video was posted on Youtube not too long ago, and it details the dos and don’ts of the maid cafe. The rules are pretty standard; we cannot take photos of the maids and so on. The entire video can be condensed into a simple message: treat the maids with the respect they are due, and you will enjoy the experience.

NKDS is revving up for a increased coverage of AFA09, so expect to see a lot of AFA-related posts in the next week or so. Regular programming will resume as soon as possible. But surely you were not expecting us to ignore the biggest and best anime event in South-East Asia, no?
