Silent Bible PV: Nana Mizuki’s most impressive PV to date?

Julius_Firefocht | January 21, 2010

Nana-chan and her PV production team has always made good PVs, but its been a while since they made something that really blew my mind away. That drought has ended now; Nana’s Silent Bible PV is probably her most impressive PV to date. My favourite Nana PV was DISCOTHEQUE, but I think Silent Bible might have seized the throne, at least for now.

I have no idea how much King Records spent on this PV, but damn it looks good. And I like Silent Bible. Time to learn how to sing it at the karaoke…

Nana Mizuki’s Phantom Minds is #1 on Oricon Single Weekly Charts

Julius_Firefocht | January 20, 2010

History being made.

The title of this post says it all.

I…. dammit. I have not felt so emotional for a while. Happiness and pride are what I feel, and I am drinking up the last of my plum wine in honour of Nana-chan’s achievement right now. This is probably the best birthday present that she can receive. The ultimate Oricon glory for the ultimate seiyuu-singer. The cherished dream of Oricon #1 in the weekly singles chart achieved. The curse of being #2 finally broken.

A seiyuu seizing #1 in the Oricon weekly charts for singles. I bet the old farts at those mainstream J-pop companies are spinning in their seats right now. :D

Damn, it feels good to support Nana. It feels good to support a winner.

Ok, that’s it for now. I shall continue my rampant Nana fanboyism in Nana’s birthday post, which is coming soon. Very soon.

This is Julius Firefocht, signing off.

Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva Original Theme Song Album: The Eternal Diva

Julius_Firefocht | January 12, 2010

This album is ownage. Pure, unadulterated ownage.

If you like Nana, you should… nay, you NEED to go out and buy a copy of this. This album is beautiful, refreshing and epic in its musical arrangement, featuring Nana as you have never heard her before. This album made me shiver in bliss at the epic musical arrangement, and made my spirits soar as Nana’s voice took flight.

Above all, this album proves why Nana is the Eternal Diva.

Get it.

For our Singaporean readers out there who are fans of Nana, you will be pleased to know that Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva will be coming to Singapore’s cinemas, thanks to Encore Films. Links here. And yes, Nana-chan is credited in that link. So yeah, we should all go watch it.

This is Julius Firefocht, signing off.

Obligatory EOY 2009 Loot Post – Makino Yui~

Xak | December 27, 2009

No she’s not loot of course! But she sure is sweet >_<

Now that EOY is over, it is time for the usual run-of-the-mill dime-a-dozen loot post! Except that rather than EOY loot, this year, one of my dreams came true. Makino Yui came down for EOY 2009 and gave a concert! And it was a damn awesome concert; Makino Yui was so lively, fresh and very very cute! Especially when she’s surprised, her “eh?” was just so moe~. Her piano playing was also great, and she performed a piece that she had played for the movie “Love Letter” when she was 8 years old as a present to us fans. And she was interrupted by the EOY staff giving her a surprise early birthday cake (her birthday is actually on January 19), and we sang her a birthday song. As for the song list, she opened the concert with Euphoria, and she sang Amrita, but most of the songs she sang were new songs. And they were really good, especially Fuwa Fuwa ♪, which is to be released next year March 3! I’m going to have to get that, it’s a really totally awesome song.

And there were autograph sessions too! Which allows me to seamlessly transit from my off-topic fanboying of Makino Yui’s concert back to the topic of loot, since for this year, my EOY loot consists of signed goods. And thanks to friends (Akai, Zelfi, Julius Firefocht) helping me to queue, it isn’t just one or two signed CDs either!

Nanoha having fun with Motsu from M.O.V.E: My brain imploded.

Remember we made a post about Yukari Tamura dueting with Motsu from M.O.V.E? Well, the song is called “You&Me”, and the full PV is out on Nico. My brains imploded with sheer epicness after watching it. Really, this is hands down the best and the most entertaining Yukarin PV I have ever seen! And the song itself is very catchy too!

Those two pictures up there? They are screencaps from the very same PV. No, I am not shitting you.

Here’s the Nico link to the PV. Have fun!

This is Julius Firefocht, signing off.

EDIT: Embedded the PV from Nico.

Nana-chan in Kouhaku: Feels good to know you have supported a winner.

Julius_Firefocht | December 2, 2009

Video first seen at Seiyuu3. Note Nana’s shocked reaction when told of her participation in Kouhaku.

Mizuki Nana is in Kouhaku, all hail Mizuki Nana!

The news has been all over the seiyuu fanbase for a while, and  I suspect NKDS is one of the last seiyuu-related blog to talk about Nana’s participation in Kouhaku. This is not out of laziness, we just thought that other sites like Seiyuu3 and Danie’s blog have done a very good job of providing all the coverage that needs to be given, so there is no point to us adding on to an already very well covered topic, is there?

That aside, at the risk of sounding elitist, I have to say I share Houkoholic’s sentiments about having pride in being a member of Nana-chan’s supporters, and being proud of Nana-chan’s achievements. I have been a fan of Nana since the days of the 1st Nanoha season, and yeah, it does feel good to know that your support in your idol has been validated, through her own hard work and talent. Though honestly, to me this whole Kouhaku participation thing is just icing on the cake. As long as Nana continues singing and voicing, I will continue to support her. Nana-chan’s participation in Kouhaku is merely the first step to our plans for the Nanafication of the world!

I think I got a bit too carried away. This is Julius Firefocht, signing off.

Yukarin is awesome

dodgethis | August 19, 2009

Seriously, man. The dark queen made me lol so hard, all the people in the hostel lobby stared at me. From Dreamy Maple Crown, which was released about two weeks ago.

And found this for 5000 yen in Akiba. Sorely tempted.

Music Japan Anison Special: Nana and Minorin segment

Julius_Firefocht | August 17, 2009

It is a bleak day in office. I was having a bad case of Monday blues combined with the stress of organizing a seemingly endless stream of meetings, while trying to figure out how to hit our sales objective for this month. At some point of time, I went to Youtube, hoping to destress by watching some Nana stuff. Then I recalled that the Music Japan Anison Special should be out already, and I found this:

Talk about an energy boost. There is nothing like having Nana and Minorin around to light up a dark day. Now we just need the full version of Music Japan, I want to hear Pray and SCANDAL’s rendition of Don’t Say Lazy.

This is Julius Firefocht, signing off.

EDIT: Another search reveals more clips. I will post them up as I find them.

EDIT: Nana’s DISCOTHEQUE and Pray added. Pray is epic, just too bad it is TV-sized and does not give Nana enough room to show off her vocal power. A true pity.
