Let me be clear, I wanted to use cherry for the post title but decided not to.

I am sure by now, most of us have already seen episode 14 of K-On!! with Mugi’s new found skin ship with Ritsu, the new OP and ED (which screams out SCANDAL) and of course, Yui bitching about Nodaka taking her cake’s strawberry.

Fast forward one week later and a post on the Japanese version of Yahoo Answers appears, posted by a certain yui_hrasawa_ht about a certain N-chan taking her cake’s strawberry. Nice one, whoever you are, yui_hrasawa_ht, for making such a post.

So I was watching the K-On Live performance and I was actually getting a little sleepy. This is entirely my fault for watching anime in the middle of the night,  no offense to the rest of the K-On girls. Then it was Ayana-chan’s turn to sing and the blood started to flow the moment the camera focused on her.

Ayana-chan was shaking her butt in this pose. No joke.

That was one of the poses that Ayana took as her song started, with her back facing the audience.

Then she started shaking her butt and I began waving my imaginary lightstick.

There are no sexual undertones to my previous sentence so just give me a break. In any case, I am sure any decent concert goer will start waving imaginary lightsticks when they see a cute girl like Ayana shaking away so cutely to a song.

I got poisoned quite deeply by this.

Ayana started singing her character song, and before I knew it, it was over. So I looped Ayana’s performance again. And again. And again. I lost count at some point of time. And I just realized that I did not even know the name of Azu-nyan’s character song.

I felt like half a victim and half a stalker. Not a healthy state of mind to be in.

So anyways, Ayana-chan gained a new convert today, and I found myself wondering if I should go buy some Azu-nyan merchandise, especially the new figurine that Alter just released, damn them. They must have known this would happen worldwide and timed the release of their Azu-nyan figurine accordingly. There’s just no way to win against them.

I am writing this post in light of the K-On girls hitting number one and number two on the weekly Oricon singles chart. At the same time, props to the girls for hitting these hallowed spots on the chart listing.

This scene was a bit hard to swallow, pun intended.

I was a bit worried after watching the 1s episode of K-ON!! S2, as it felt a little bit too slow with not enough jokes. Well, I am happy to say my worries were misplaced. The humor and hilarity are back in full force in Ep2, with an extra kick as compared to some of the best episodes of the 1st season.

Today, AFA09 held another press conference aimed specifically at bloggers. During this conference, the ticketing price and several new guests were revealed. Suffice to say that AFA09 is shaping up to be the anime event to beat in the region.

First thing first… the normal ticket price will be $15 for a day and $25 for two days. Students will get to enjoy a special student rate of $12 for a day and $20 for two days. The concert tickets will be priced at $188 for both days’ concert and $108 for one day’s concert. There will also be free entry for children under the age of 12 and for cosplayers who meet adequate standards for the event. Note that all prices are in SGD.

EDIT: The concert tickets will cover the entry fee as well. For example, a one day concert ticket will cover the entry fee for that day, while the two day concert ticket will cover the entry fee for both days.

Yes, this is a substantial increase as compared to last year. But considering the total amount of content available in AFA09, one might argue that the price of admission is a good deal compared to any other anime event of comparable size and depth. Not to mention the concert ticket pricing this year is actually cheaper per artiste as compared to last year!

For the students out there, the deal gets even sweeter with substantial discounts available to you. 20 bucks for two days comes out to 10 bucks a day. Not bad at all.

Now, on to the new content revealed in the conference.

“Don’t say lazy” live version?

The K-On seiyuus seem to be practicing or rehearsing for a performance of some sort. I wonder if there’s any event coming up that might feature them? I can’t think of any at the moment.

Good luck to the seiyuus if they want to master their instruments in such a short time. I really hope they can succeed, but learning a musical instrument from scratch is not easy.

On a side-note, I seem to be making a lot of short posts recently. This trend will probably continue as my working hours do not give me the luxury of writing long posts.

My new wallpaper.

It’s a bit late, but I finally watched the blu-ray edition of K-On. It’s really insane. They were not joking when they said that screencaps from there can be used as wallpapers. As evidence, I present a screencap of Mio from the ending sequence… and I suspect that KyoAni in their infinite wisdom did mean for these to be used as wallpapers in the first place.

I’m going to post up the screencaps/wallpapers of all four girls, so feel free to take your pick.

I am normally resistent to plushies, but I cracked when I saw these. They are simple too cute not to have!

Yui and Tsumugi are in the 1st set, with Mio and Ritsu for the 2nd set. The final set will have Azusa and a character that I can’t recall for now.

Anyway, I already preordered all 3 sets at KKnM, and apparently they would arrive in November. So yeah, I am looking forward to having a whole group of K-On plushies occupying my bed.
