Every now and then, I still get mail from the nice people of Pangya about events but I stopped short of deleting today’s, because it said [パンヤ通信Vol.282] 水樹奈々の声が聴ける！　第3弾ボイスクラブセット登場♪. And the magic words were there. Of course, she’s not the only one who’s been added. We have:

Noto~~!! <3

Another year, another time to wish Noto happy birthday again. The past year has been pretty Notoble, with her voicing a few roles she has voiced before in sequels, namely Notozaka Haruka in Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu Purezza and Toudou Shimako in Marimite 4. But her new roles were also awesome, with the most determined and cool Tomoe from Queen’s Blade and as an ojou-sama type as Toudou Lilicia in Seitokai no Ichizon. But the role that dominated my memory of the past year is most definitely Kuronuma Sawako from Notodoke; what can I say, it’s simply 2D Noto! Ever so sweet, so cute, so naive (and hence even more cute), so earnest and so lovable; just like Noto! This took the spot of most iconic Noto role ever for sure at least, and now I simply cannot imagine anybody else voicing for that role.

And on Noto’s birthday it seems that I was blessed; opened a signed Starlight Breaker in one of the Nanoha First boxes that I bought today, making this happy day just simply fantastic. Now for another year of joy, another year of happiness and another year of Noto! <3

Remember the Jewels Audition last time, here we are back again with the 3 seiyuus who are voted in.

I have not seen them in the aisp for quite some time and I managed to register 葉山いくみas my friend on aisp.

For some reason the 3 of them lined up behind the host.

As usual some after event activities… The birth of the 巫女三姉妹. 

Recently, theres been some events going on in ai sp@ce.

Firstly, theres the ai sp@ceで鬼ごっこ！where u chase the 情報部 all over the 3 islands. The following 3 screenshots were from the 14th.

Theres also the 密着！アイスペ情報部！！Now, this is a fun but weird event. At Shuffle island, we had to script our chara dolls to be able to do greetings. At DC island, all we had to do is to sit. Finally at Clannad island, we had to script 熱いmessages onto our chara dolls.

For those who have not tried scripting before, this would be quite hard. As usual, we ended with some screenshots below. For this event, we also had our resident bunny taking part.

I hope you all will be able to spot me in all of the above pics ^^

Next up, we have the Quiz event. It will be on the 21st of June, tommorow at 5pm JST. We will be at UDX 4ch/5ch.

Also, remember the seiyuu auditions from sometime back? On the 26th this month, there will be a live broadcast of the 3 selected seiyuus in ai sp@ce. Just warp to the event hall at UDX 1ch at 8pm JST.

There’s an upcoming event that would be of interest to most of you out there. Its a watergun shooting event. Up front, its just a game where you shoot paper dolls, but you also get shot at. And if you get shot, *surprise*, theres a chance your clothes might disappear. Here’s the link.

NAGI-SAMA!!!!!

The picture says it all. I think this post is going to be a collection of what I dredged out from seiup this month or so. So, more pictures after the break.

Oh, and Haruka Tomatsu does look extremely appealing with glasses on. I heartily approve.

Loli turned goth-loli.

Since Yukarin is dominating the seiyuu magazines for this month, I figured it would be a good idea to include at least one picture of her. So I picked the best one I could find in recent days. This picture caught my eye because it lacked the pink that Yukarin was famed for. At least she can switch out her cutesy loli image for a darker and more matured touch, and still look as good if not better. I would call that “acting her age”, but she is eternally 17, so the point is moot.

Minorin in loving-wife mode?

While the overall effect of Minorin in an apron looks good, I cannot help but think that her smile felt somewhat forced. Maybe she was pressured into this photoshoot, or maybe she simply had no idea how to smile a loving-wife smile. I guess we would never know.

Where’s the whip?

I have absolutely no idea what our beloved Tanaka Rie is cosplaying as here. She looks smoking hot, and that’s about all we need to know. Now, if only we could have more information about that photobook that she is releasing. I would definitely buy a copy if it ever made its way here. Or I might even buy two copies. In case one copy ever gets dirty or worn. Or something.

Another 17-year old girl.

Since we started this post with a meganekko picture, its only fair that we end off with a meganekko picture. So we present meganekko Hocchan. The cuteness level is over 9000, and her work in Toradora only made me respect her even more. We desperately need a revival of Yamato Nadeshiko, the two-girl seiyuu group that consisted of Hocchan and Yukarin. Unfortunately, its probably never going to happen.

Let us start off with Nana and Aya in White Album.

Bright smiles all around.

Apparently the above picture was taken during the first recording session of White Album aka “the anime that will have Nana and Aya fans at each others’ throats”. The two of them looked decidedly chummy in that picture. An attempt by both idols to keep the peace between their respective fanbases, or a PR move between King Records and Lantis? Perhaps both.

This will be a rare chance for Nana fans to hear a different voice from her, since she will be playing a proud ultra-popular idol that is already established in the industry and commands legions of fans. Yeah, Nana in full assertive diva mode. She can command me anytime, I say.

Aya, on the other hand, plays an idol just making her debut. Not much acting to be done there, considering Aya IS a relatively new idol, yes?

Anyway, these two are supposed to cross paths and eventually cross swords, fighting over both their careers and a man, at least according to the script. Lucky guy, caught between Nana and Aya. He might end up being the focus of anger of both fanbases after all, just like Takayuki Bakayuki from Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien.

Before accusations of White Album ripping off Macross Frontier start flying around, I must state that White Album was an eroge made by Leaf, way back in 1998. Not to mention the idea of love triangles and catfights have been around since… ok, I have no idea, but all the same, please look forward to White Album. I will also be writing a dedicated article for it before the series starts next January, in order to familiarize interested readers with the anime’s setting.

On a semi-related note, someone up there in the anime industry probably has issues with Aya. She had to contend with Kugyuu in this season’s Akasaka, only to face Nana in next season’s White Album. I could almost feel sorry for her. Almost.

The child shall be called….GUNDAM!

Next up is Mamoru Miyano’s scandalous marriage with his pregnant girlfriend. Not much to write about here, the man performed a shotgun marriage, setting a bad example for young Gundam fans and causing white-hot rage amongst his fujoshi fanbase. Last I heard, the fujoshi legions were hoping that his wife would miscarriage and the couple would divorce. Truly, hell hath no wrath like a fujoshi scorned, but the child is innocent. Feel free to kidnap Mamoru Miyano and have unspeakable things done to him, but really, leave the baby out of this.

The third piece of news is not so much news, more like a celebration of Yukari Tamura’s anti-aging techniques. Observe, if you will.

I got these pictures from here, but this is seriously incredible. Never mind that Yukarin is supposed to be eternally 17, but now she looks younger than 17? A superhuman feat for a 32 year old young teenager just out of lolihood. Now, let us look at a photo from the days of Yamato Nadeshiko with Hocchan.

NKDS staff had discussed the secrets of her anti-aging powers, with no suitable conclusion in sight. Botox? Make-up? Photoshop? Combination of all three? No one knows for sure. Then again, the solution may just be staring at us in the face all along. Maybe Yukarin is staying 17 for ever and ever. And ever.

This concludes our random seiyuu feature. I wonder what the later half of this month would bring. Maybe Mamiko Noto getting married to Tetsuya Kakihara?
